Shin Godzilla, the God Incarnate.

Monsterverse Godzilla, the Alpha Predator.

Coming off of a long hiatus for the Godzilla franchise, Godzilla 2014 and Shin Godzilla became the towering titans of resurgence for the franchise, breathing new life into the King of the Monsters. Between Shin Godzilla inspiring Toho into many different Godzilla projects, eventually bringing rise to the critically acclaimed Godzilla Minus One, and the Monsterverse, spawned into existence by the success of Godzilla 2014 and culminating in the greatest battle and team-up with King Kong that the world has ever seen, these two versions of the big G have been beyond influential. But the question of who beats who has often been the subject of debate early on in their existences... Well, this'll help settle that question once and for all, hopefully.

Before We Start…

Shin Godzilla's standalone movie will be the only thing we draw from for him. Each Monsterverse movie that Godzilla appears in (Godzilla 2014, G;KOTM, GvK, and GxK) will be the primary sources for Monsterverse Godzilla.

Crossovers for both will be addressed, as well as the comics that Monsterverse Godzilla appears in.

Background

Shin Godzilla

“Man is more frightening than Gojira.”

The Tokyo Aqualine was one day compromised by an explosion of water that steamed, the oceans all around boiling. This mysterious happenstance was no coincidence, as an abandoned yacht was found floating alone when the mysterious eruption occurred. The government scrambled to find out what the cause was, only for it to be revealed when a massive tail broke the surface of the water.

It wasn't long until the creature made landfall. Waddling around and expelling red liquid from its gills, the government deployed helicopters to try and stop the beast, only for it to suddenly evolve before their very eyes, transforming into an armed, two-legged beast. Due to civilian presence still in the area, the helicopters were unable to fire upon the mysterious creature, which returned to the ocean.

A short time passed, with researchers attempting to understand what this creature was and what caused its emergence. It wasn't long until the creature returned in a form over twice as large as its former two-legged form. This creature, having discovered to be a mysterious beast that fed on nuclear waste on the seafloor and had mutated into an unholy monster, the creature was christened by the name; Godzilla.

The Japanese military attempted to stop the beast, using all of its military firepower to try and destroy it to no avail. As Godzilla crossed into Tokyo, the U.S. military intervened, dropping bombs from B-2 stealth bombers onto Godzilla's back. The attack wounded the mutant, but it only served to provoke Godzilla into a destructive rage. Godzilla unleashed its atomic ray, obliterating three districts of Tokyo, destroying the Bombers, and shooting down a helicopter carrying the highest ranking officials of the Japanese government. After expending a titanic amount of energy, Godzilla went into a state of hibernation and stopped moving for the time being.

Japan was in shambles, its government broken, and Godzilla presence still looming ominously. However, parts of Godzilla were able to be studied, aided by the research of a man who had been studying Godzilla before his strange disappearance. Meanwhile, the U.S. was on route to send a nuclear bomb to destroy Godzilla, but at the same time, would obliterate Tokyo in the process. In order to counteract this and stop Godzilla without harm to the greater area of Tokyo, a plan was hatched to stop Godzilla's internal nuclear workings via a blood coagulant, forcing the beast to do a reactor scram to stay alive and freeze solid as a result. When Godzilla awakened, the plan was put into action.

Godzilla was repeatedly brought down and administered the coagulant, stiffening its skin and slowing its movements. Though the repeated force-feeding slowed it down, Godzilla retaliated, very nearly destroying most of the concrete pump trucks that had been administering the coagulant. All hope was lost, it seemed...until Godzilla froze solid.

The operation was a success, and Godzilla was halted in its tracks...only for the time being. The nuclear launch countdown was halted, but if it re-awakened, the H-bomb would be dropped with no hesitation. But for a brief moment, the people of Japan could rest easy, as the threat of Godzilla had been stopped.

However, as Godzilla stood frozen in the streets of Tokyo, several humanoid skeleton-like creatures could be seen sprouting from the end of its tail, reaching out to the sky.

Monsterverse Godzilla

“Long live the King.”

This world doesn't belong to us. It never did. It belonged to them. Long ago in 1954, a nuclear submarine re-awakened an ancient alpha predator, drawing him up to the surface. Hungry for sustenance, the ancient titan attacked several ships and nuclear submarines, feeding on the radiation they provided. Eventually, the titan's existence was discovered, with the United States detonating the Castle Bravo bomb in an attempt to kill him.

The creature vanished after the attack, the government covering up every trace of his existence. A scientific organization called Monarch had been formed to study the beast as well as any other creatures just like him in the following decades. And nearly 60 years later, the world would soon realize the truth. That this world, had monsters.

The mysterious beast re-emerged upon sensing the presence of one of his ancient enemies, the parasitic MUTO. Making landfall in Hawaii, the titan battled against his old foe, revealing to the wider public and world of his existence. Monarch could no longer hide the truth. The ancient alpha predator was real and was called: Godzilla.

With the emergence of both the Male and Female MUTO's and Godzilla, the United States military hatched a plan to lure all three out to sea and blow them all up with a nuclear warhead. However, while in transport, the nuke was stolen by the Male MUTO and carried away. Eventually landing in the Female MUTO's nest, two wars raged in the city of San Francisco; Godzilla against the MUTO's, and a covert military operation to extract the armed nuclear bomb.

Eventually, both battles culminated in an explosive finale. The nuclear bomb was detonated off the Californian coast a safe distance away, and Godzilla destroyed the two MUTO's. Despite being the savior of the city, Godzilla and his titan brethren were not about to be forgotten so soon.

The world now knew that Godzilla, and monsters, roamed the earth. Through both natural and human intervention, Godzilla and the other titans would engage in battles all around the surface and the hollow inner workings of the earth. King Ghidorah, Rodan, Mothra, Kong, Mechagodzilla, the Skar King, Shimo; monsters that Godzilla battled and teamed up with on numerous occasions to bring balance to the natural order.

Years passed, and battles raged. Godzilla was revered, feared, hated, and loved. Through trial and tribulations, battle after battle, and humankind trying to destroy the almighty titan who was on their side in the past, Godzilla proved himself as the almighty King of the Monsters. Through it all, Godzilla triumphed against his rivals; King Ghidorah, Kong, Mechagodzilla, and the Skar King.

But battle after battle, especially in such short order, left Godzilla tired of it all. A well-deserved nap in the Roman Colosseum was in order for the King of the Monsters.

Experience & Skill

Shin Godzilla

Well, put simply, Shin Godzilla doesn't exactly...have all that much experience or skill. As a purely reactive monster, any changes in its environment that impact it causes Godzilla to adapt to its newfound source of trouble. However, Shin does exhibit the ability to "learn", having recognized that drones were a threat, and utilizing its atomic breath to counter the drones. This was exploited in order to trick Godzilla to expend its energy, but it still displays how Shin was able to recognize patterns and adapt to fight them.

Monsterverse Godzilla

Having been around for millions of years, Godzilla has participated in hundreds if not thousands of battles against other titans, including against his greatest rivals, King Ghidorah and the Skar King. He's beaten both before, beat them in modern times, and appears to learn and adapt with each fight, gaining experience from each battle. Given his age, Godzilla likely has millions of years of combat experience and skill built up from numerous confrontations. Against Kong in Hong Kong, he refused to take Kong seriously and simply blasted him with his atomic breath a whole lot until an axe strike hit him on the head; to which Godzilla then took Kong seriously, nearly killing him in retaliation. This attitude carried over to GxK, to where instead of messing around, Godzilla went straight for the kill, knowing that Kong was a serious threat. Against Scylla and Tiamat, Godzilla spared their lives previously but came back around and quickly dealt with them in GxK, having the knowledge of how to kill them from his previous encounters where he didn't. In 2014, after observing each of the fighting styles of the MUTO's, swiftly dealt with them one-on-one, predicting their attack patterns and mannerisms. Despite taking on battles solo most of the time, Godzilla displays the ability to learn and cooperate with other titans, including Mothra and Kong. He was able to coordinate attacks with Kong, allowing the ape to jump onto his back for leverage, save Kong from Shimo on two different occasions, and double-team the Skar King in a combo attack.

Abilities

Shin Godzilla

Self-Mutation

Shin Godzilla's most powerful and defining ability is its ability to evolve. Based on factors in its environment, Godzilla can rearrange its cellular makeup and genetic code to adapt to whatever situation it requires. Through each stage of its existence, Shin evolved to better suit its environment. It developed legs to walk on land, a more stable bodily structure to be able to stand upright without waddling around, and later further evolving heavily armored skin. In response to being injured by bombers, it evolved the ability to use its atomic breath to shoot down the threats towards it. At the end of its film, humanoid Shin Godzilla creatures sprouted from its tail.

Atomic Breath

Like with all Godzilla incarnations, Shin Godzilla retains the trademark atomic breath, though in a much more interesting take. To use it, Godzilla must unhinge and split open its jaw. Taking the form of a cloud of smoke initially that soon burns into a stream of fire, christened the "Super Thermal Radiation Particle Belt Flame", the fire can then be focused into a thin stream of purple atomic breath, capable of shearing through buildings like butter and striking distant targets.

Dorsal Plate beams

No, really, where do those even come out of? JUST out of his back? In any case, Shin Godzilla can redirect its atomic breath energy to blast rays out of its back, which are all just as powerful as its normal atomic breath.

Tail beam

...It can also fire beams out of its tail. Uh, lets not try and ask where else beams come out of. In any case, given the nature of the tail, Shin can aim the beam much better than blasting it out of its mouth. And yes, the tail in fact, does have a mouth. With human jaws and teeth.

Eye membrane

Shin Godzilla can use eye membranes to protect its eyes. Used in conjunction with its atomic breath, as well as used to shield its eyes when bombs were dropped on its head.

Phased-Array Radar

Shin Godzilla has a biological function that allows him to detect threats without the need to see them. It used this ability to shoot down drones that got too close while in a dormant state.

Cellular Regenerative properties

Shin Godzilla possesses a horrifying regenerative ability. When chunks of it were blown off by bunker buster bombs, the globs of flesh that were flung to who knows where began to regenerate into "clones" of Shin, growing eyes and replicating flesh. Shin Godzilla is able to also regenerate its body from wounds as well, healing after the bunker buster bombs broke open its dorsals.

Monsterverse Godzilla

Atomic Breath

Like with all Godzilla incarnations, Monsterverse Godzilla utilizes the iconic atomic breath. Originally appearing as a wispy flamethrower-esque ray in 2014, in later installments of the Monsterverse, Godzilla's atomic breath resembled the bright blue laser of destruction that Godzilla is known to possess. Taking the form of a concentrated blast of atomic energy, it can shear clean through buildings or blow structures to pieces with its kinetic momentum.

Supercharged Atomic Breath

When Godzilla wants to bust a crust, he busts out the crust buster. It is quite literally exactly as it sounds, and effectively works as a far stronger version of his normal atomic breath. While the charge-up for a supercharged atomic breath takes longer than usual and requires a large amount of radiation from Godzilla's internal storage, the results are always devastating.

Nuclear pulse

Monsterverse Godzilla can utilize a devastating nuclear pulse, taking the form of a concentrated atomic shockwave released from his body. Like its atomic breath, it possesses the ability to knock opponents away with its kinetic force. The nuclear pulse is stated to take the form of an EMP, having knocked out power in a thirty-mile radius.

Evolution and Adaptation

Throughout each film, Monsterverse Godzilla displays more and more impressive showings, having evolved gradually and steadily between each installment. He grew larger and more powerful between 2014 and G;KOTM, and after absorbing Mothra's essence, was able to gain the ability to stockpile nuclear energy more efficiently, allowing him to supercharge his atomic breath as well as store excess radiation, allowing him to evolve in GxK. In his evolved form, he became even more powerful, effectively trading his base form out for a more powerful form.

Sensory abilities

Monsterverse Godzilla possesses heightened senses, which allow him to detect imbalances across the planet. He was able to sense the awakening of the MUTO's in 2014, detect an imbalance at Ghidorah's icy prison, scope out remaining traces of the dragon in Mechagodzilla, detect where it was being held after a test run, sense Kong's challenge to him from miles away, and detect a Hollow-earth distress signal, which spurred him to evolve and prepare.

Energy Absorption

Monsterverse Godzilla feeds on radiation, his inner biological workings being described as "Bio-atomic". He can survive indefinitely by feeding on radiation, absorb large amounts of it to power himself up, store excess for later and for evolutionary purposes, absorb the DNA of foes he's slain in battle, and accelerate his healing factor when exposed to radiation.

Regeneration

Monsterverse Godzilla possesses a healing actor that can slowly heal wounds sustained in battle. After being visibly cut by the MUTO's, by morning, he didn't appear to have any visible injuries. After sustaining a deep wound in his leg by a swing of Kong's axe, he had healed a large portion of the deep wound. He was able to regenerate mid-battle from burns caused by Mechagodzilla's proton scream, and regrow his dorsal plates after they had been shattered by the MUTO Prime.

Forms

Shin Godzilla

First form Shin

Shin Godzilla's mostly pre-irradiated form. Completely unknown looks aside from its tail...we can assume it doesn't have any arms and probably really short legs. Completely useless in combat.

Second form Shin

Shin Godzilla's second form, evolved to walk on land. It...kind of just thrashed about, and spewed weird red liquid from its gills every now and then. Doesn't really have arms and was probably suffocating the whole time. Also completely useless in combat.

Third form Shin

I mean...it is starting to look like Godzilla. Actually boasting functional legs, arms, and a decent posture, this form still didn't exactly last long. After overheating via its evolution, it severely needed to go back to the ocean to cool off, so it sorta ran away like a pussy. Still completely useless in combat.

Fifth form Shin

An absolute horror show. Aptly described as a "committee" created by Shin to defeat the Japanese committee that defeated it. Too bad it got frozen...actually no it's a good thing, these things are absolutely horrifying.

Monsterverse Godzilla

2014 Godzilla

Monsterverse Godzilla's weaker "base" form. It can be assumed that this version of Godzilla is a downgrade from his base 2019-2024 form(s), given how he had just woken up, was starving, and had to deal with parasitic monsters that had evolved to directly counter his species. No wonder he was pissed.

Burning Godzilla

Arguably Godzilla's strongest state. Gained as a supercharged form from radiation absorption and controlling it in an explosive manner, Godzilla completely obliterates everything in his way in this point. Burning Godzilla is limited in how many pulses he can discharge depending on how much excess radiation he has stored.

Energized Godzilla

He ate one too many radioactive hamburgers. Gained after supercharging himself on a nuclear reactor, Godzilla gained his EMP pulse in this form and was able to shut down drones that were attacking him as well as making him a walking irradiation hazard within several hundreds of meters of his location. So much energy was peeling off of him that the oceans boiled where he traversed.

Evolved Godzilla

Fearsome Godzilla has evolved, and joins the mighty Kong, with his powerful Beast Glove, to face the deadliest titans ever; the giant ruthless Skar King. Evolved Godzilla sports a slimmer frame, longer arms, and protrusions of spikes such as a thagomizer and elbow spikes. Evolved Godzilla is clearly modeled after Mechagodzilla; after nearly dying against the doppelganger, Godzilla adapted his form to mimic it with longer reach, a slimmer frame built for speed, and a tail-based weapon.

Scaling

Shin Godzilla

There is nothing to scale Shin Godzilla to.

Well, maybe except the MOP's that penetrated its back and caused it to bleed profusely. We can sort of gauge that the Bunker busters dropped on Shin yield anywhere between 10 tons and 1000 tons of TNT. It's really hard to figure out the exact range, but it doesn't exactly matter anyway.

Monsterverse Godzilla

MUTO Prime

Monsterverse Godzilla was able to survive attacks from the MUTO Prime while in his weakened 2014 form. The MUTO Prime is able to manipulate Tectonic Plates, and tear through them to travel around.

King Ghidorah

By existing, Ghidorah can generate titanic storms that can cover entire countries. Said storms don't even need to be near Ghidorah; his very existence on earth being an anomaly, he can change the weather to fit his needs. By flapping his wings, Ghidorah creates hurricanes, to which he himself in power should be comparable to at the very least, and probably stronger as a whole.Godzilla being able to disperse some of the storms Ghidorah creates with his atomic breath is an extremely impressive showing.

King Kong

Kong's Beast Glove was able to smack Godzilla around; the Beast Glove was described to hit with the force of a meteor. While this is obviously very ambiguous, it can't be understated that the Beast Glove's power is quite high. It shattered a building into a billion pieces when the Skar King threw it at Kong, which is a pretty impressive showing.

Mechagodzilla

So, this is where things get a bit dubious. Godzilla's atomic breath is stated to have an energy output of 3.15 x 10^14 joules, or 315 terajoules. The energy output is equal to 75.3 kilotons of TNT, and the beam has a minimum temperature of 20,000 degrees Celsius. Godzilla's weakened atomic breath was able to match up against Mechagodzilla's proton scream, which was described as having an energy output of 4.10 x 10^80 (12^16) joules, which...if taken at face value, effectively means Mechagodzilla's proton scream has an energy output of over 100 billion times the mass energy of the observable universe! If we instead take the "12^16" calculation instead, the output is still frightening, though obviously not completely insane. Instead the energy output is around 758 petajoules, over three times as powerful as the strongest nuclear bomb to ever go off. And...also, 3000 times more powerful than Godzilla's atomic breath! This severely puts into question how powerful Godzilla's atomic breath is exactly, but it is implied that Godzilla at full power would have been able to overpower Mechagodzilla's proton scream. There's a lot of conflicting information here, but there might be an answer for just how strong Godzilla's atomic breath can really get...

Shimo

Here we have Shimo, whose frostbite blast froze Greenland in a matter of minutes. Speaking of which, just by using the frostbite blast, Shimo caused the ice age just by using it. And Godzilla tanked a head-on blast of it. What's even more impressive is Evolved Godzilla's supercharged atomic ray dispersing a second glacial storm that was going to cause yet another ice age; so Godzilla's peak atomic breath power is equivalent to or greater than the power of a global ice age, an extraordinary feat of power.

Weaknesses

Shin Godzilla

While Shin Godzilla is an incredibly potent Godzilla in theory, in practice, it struggles. Due to how taxing its mutation is, Shin will overheat and require long periods of rest to recover its energy when it evolves. After using its atomic breath for the first time, it expended pretty much all of its energy and needed to go into a state of suspended animation for over 2 weeks to recover its energy. Its legs are weak points, as shown when unmanned bullet trains filled with explosives rammed into it, Shin was knocked down to the floor. Similarly, when buildings were detonated and fell on top of it, Shin was similarly knocked down. During the operation to freeze it, Shin was tricked into expending its energy to a point that concrete pump trucks could go in and deliver a freezing coagulant to it; due to the coagulant messing with its blood stream and internal nuclear reactor, in order to survive, Shin required a reactor scram and was frozen solid in the process. Shin also has zero showings against any other monsters, and aside from its tail, has no means of inflicting physical damage to a foe. Shin in general is also extremely slow, unable to make quick movements outside of its tail.

Monsterverse Godzilla

Despite being a walking juggernaut, Monsterverse Godzilla does possess a few weaknesses. Godzilla was not at his full strength when both facing the MUTO's, MUTO Prime, and Kong due to the former two being in a starved state and the latter after expending a large amount of energy; he was further disadvantaged when battling Mechagodzilla and was overwhelmed because of it. Godzilla's gills serve as his weak point on his body, a missile managing to harm him when it struck him directly in that area. The Oxygen destroyer also severely wounded him, forcing him into a state of hibernation to regain his energy. Against foes of superior strength, Godzilla has struggled, being beaten around by the MUTO Prime, Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, and Shimo. He even was temporarily knocked out of battles, once during the Mechagodzilla fight with Kong and second by being thrown halfway across Rio by Shimo, though the latter allowed him the time to supercharge his atomic breath.

Before The Verdict

Evangelion scaling?

Taking into account the Evangelion 4D ride that featured the good ol' crispy brisket Godzilla and the EVA units from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Shin suddenly becomes a beast. Er, well. Kinda. Yeah, the EVA units do kinda wail on it, and Shin is able to smack them all around without much effort. But...there's nothing to suggest that these versions of the EVA's scale to higher end Evangelion stuff that I do not want to get into, and besides, from what was shown, MV Godzilla would also be able to ragdoll the EVA's in a similar vein. That being said, if we do decide to include this in the final verdict, we would have to consider all crossovers, to which...

DC scaling?

Monsterverse Godzilla battling Superman evenly and then WINNING, already puts him at a level beyond so much that its beyond ridiculous to try include DC scaling for Godzilla in order to get anything resembling a fair comparison. Of course, while DC scaling is reasonable to include in higher-tier fights, this so far has only been pulling from base material for both Shin Godzilla and Monsterverse Godzilla. So no DC scaling for Monsterverse Godzilla, and no Evangelion scaling for Shin Godzilla. No crossover scaling for either, basically.

Is Godzilla Awakening Canon?

Uh...Maybe? Monarch: Legacy of Monsters seriously put into question both the background story of Godzilla 2014 and its associated prequel comic, Godzilla Awakening. In this comic, Godzilla survives the impact of the Permian Meteor at point-blank range, an utterly insane feat of durability. Whether this is canon is severely up for debate, and probably can be considered "soft canon".

Verdicts

Stats

No matter what way you slice it, Monsterverse Godzilla absolutely slams in the stat department. Having actual feats to his name helps, but the fact that he's thrown around monsters that are much heavier than him, grappled evenly with a monster twice his weight, and actually having competent melee capability means that Monsterverse Godzilla is stronger than Shin Godzilla in every way it counts. The best you can argue for Shin is tearing up a bridge and throwing it, as well as causing mass destruction by simply walking, but compared to MV? There's no contest in who's stronger. And in terms of speed...yeah I, I don't need to go much into that. Shin Godzilla can barely move itself around, while MV Godzilla can run and swim at terrifying speeds, and actually use his speed in combat. In terms of durability, while both are impervious to normal military weaponry, Shin got knocked down by exploding trains and was visibly injured by bunker busters. MV has tanked the Proton scream, Gravity bolts, the Frostbite blast, and also physical attacks from Kong's Beast Glove and the MUTO Prime's arms. Monsterverse Godzilla easily takes the stat trinity, and it's not even close.

Arsenal & Abilities

In terms of what these big G's can do, they're surprisingly neck and neck in terms of most of their abilities. Both possess a devastatingly powerful atomic breath, both can amp their heat rays, both have unique sensory abilities, AOE attacks, and have a regenerative factor. Fascinatingly, both have their advantages and disadvantages when compared to the other; Shin's beam is arguably more powerful, given the widespread destruction it causes...until MV busts the crust buster out and puts Shin's beam to absolute shame. On the other hand, Shin's regenerative power far exceeds MV's, working much quicker and faster, as well as granting it potential infinite clones spawned from its self-replicating DNA. The Phased-Array Radar and Heightened senses are fairly neck-and-neck and give both a leg up for scoping out danger and foes, and the AOE options that Shin has in its dorsal beams and tail beam match MV's Nuclear pulse fairly well. That being said, Shin does have a unique advantage in terms of its self-mutation, which acts much quicker than MV's slow but methodical evolution...but I'll get into why that won't really help all that much. All things considered, Shin Godzilla and Monsterverse are just about even in terms of their special abilities.

Tertiary Factors

The setting for the combatants matters a surprising amount. In the water, Monsterverse Godzilla is at his peak. Meanwhile, we've never really seen Shin Godzilla do anything other than on land, and given how Monsterverse Godzilla is still effective and capable on dry land, the setting for a hypothetical battle would be best suited to be a city. Classic, but it works best for both.

Of course, we need to really analyze Shin Godzilla's greatest asset: his evolutionary prowess. In theory, there's nothing stopping Shin from evolving into something that can perfectly counter Monsterverse Godzilla...but no, that's just, not happening. For one, we don't even know what Monsterverse Godzilla's "perfect counter" is. The closest thing to a counter to MV's Godzilla are the MUTO's, but I highly doubt Shin would be able to uniquely evolve into something that similar. Besides, Shin's evolution takes time; time that Monsterverse Godzilla simply won't allow for.

On paper, Shin certainly has all the advantages it needs. It can evolve into a form suited for countering Monsterverse Godzilla, and regenerate indefinitely. However, once again in practice, that simply wouldn't happen. What exactly would Shin be evolving into to counter MV Godzilla? Would it evolve to resist its foe's beam? Then MV would just rush in and rip Shin to shreds. Would Shin evolve to resist physical attacks from MV? A charged beam would still blow Shin to pieces. Shin Godzilla's evolutionary process simply can't keep up with whatever MV is going to throw at it, effectively nullifying whatever Shin might figure out in its non-existent sleeves. Monsterverse Godzilla takes tertiary factors by default.

Shin Godzilla

"I did as I liked, you also do as you like."

Advantages:

  • Evolution grants massive potential
  • Stronger beam normally
  • Can use multiple beams at once
  • Superior beam aim
  • Stronger regenerative factor
  • Who will Know and Persecution of the Masses are absolute bangers
  • Is super cool

Disadvantages:

  • ...But couldn't feasibly use said evolution against its foe
  • ...But would be outclassed by opponent's charged up beams
  • Much weaker
  • Way, way slower
  • Far less durable
  • Evolution requires extreme amounts of energy
  • Could overheat from evolving
  • Laughable melee competency
  • Got cooked by exploding trains
  • Killed himself in match 288 of the KWC

Monsterverse Godzilla

"The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control, and not the other way around. Let them fight."

Advantages:

  • Far stronger physically in every possible way
  • Immensely more durable
  • Far faster and far more agile
  • Much more experienced
  • Far higher endurance
  • Stronger beam when charged up
  • Wider AOE with Nuclear pulse
  • Far far more competent in melee combat
  • Versatility can potentially nullify Shin's reactive adaptations
  • Actually has more than one movie to his name
  • Is super cool

Disadvantages:

  • Gills are a vulnerable area
  • Cannot evolve on a whim
  • Weaker non-charged beam
  • Less potent regenerative factor
  • Heisei Godzilla jumpscare
  • No dick, and no balls

No matter which way you decide to slice it, this fight is completely and totally clear cut. Monsterverse Godzilla is simply far too strong, fast, and durable for Shin Godzilla to compete with. Even when taking its speculative evolution into consideration, the gap in sheer power is so wide that before Shin could even hope to close the horrendously wide margin, Monsterverse Godzilla would utterly obliterate it several times over.

Assuming the fight starts at a long range, long enough for Shin to charge up its beams up before MV charges in and completely and utterly bulldozes it, said beams wouldn't even hinder MV Godzilla all that much. In theory, while repeated beam blasts could slow him down, MV Godzilla is more than durable enough to shrug them off and bulldoze Shin Godzilla. And that's assuming Monsterverse Godzilla doesn't counter with his own beam, which would pulverize Shin Godzilla.

Shin Godzilla certainly has some advantages; its regenerative factor means that, in theory, it could keep coming back for more each time it gets torn up, but if MV Godzilla were to not be lazy and vaporize Shin's entire being the first time around, each time that Shin comes back, Monsterverse Godzilla would pick up on the trends and learn to completely get rid of Shin Godzilla in order to put it down for good.

At the end of the day, there is absolutely nothing Shin can do. Even in a prolonged series of battles, the power gap between it and Monsterverse Godzilla is so high that before Shin could hope to catch up, MV would figure out what makes Shin tick and dispose of it completely.

For Shin Godzilla, it truly is Godzover.

The winner is Monsterverse Godzilla.

Final Tally

Shin Godzilla (0) - It's Godzover...

Monsterverse Godzilla (4) - Ganyula, Dyna, Wyld, Veteran
